Over a decade ago I read the book, You’ve Got Only Three Seconds. Author Camille Lavington writes that lasting judgements are made in 3 seconds or less. Communication consultants concur that how we appear is strategic for a job interview. Dress for success. Body language is also crucial. Strong handshake, posture and eye contact are all suggested tactics to consider to present a strong positive first impression.
I spotted it on my 28th birthday. I was on board a ship in the Port of Piraeus outside of Athens Greece with my husband and 18 Swedish sailors (or at least I think they were sailors.) They were a group of young men sponsored by some churches to help with preparing the vessel for sea.
The symptoms were present for at least a week each month: general discomfort, chronic fatigue, proclivity for irritability, and a debilitating sense of doom. The monthly female cycle played havoc with my well‐being. It overshadowed half my life with a malaise, which was both tiresome and most inconvenient. PMDD diagnosis is part of my backstory.
